ABOUT

Paul’s career in television drama got off to a flying start when he became lead director on E4’s award-winning Skins. After working on the first two episodes with a then-unknown cast including Dev Patel, Nicholas Hoult and Daniel Kaluuya, he went on to direct two episodes of ITV’s Whistleblowers.

Since then, Paul has worked across a wide range of projects, including the historical drama Desperate Romantics, starring Aidan Turner and Rafe Spall; My Left Nut, a coming-of-age comedy drama commissioned by BBC Three; and Vera, the hugely popular series set in the North East and starring Brenda Blethyn.

More recently, Paul directed two seasons of Ridley for West Road Pictures, with Adrian Dunbar in the lead role. He is currently directing Forever Home, a new Channel 5 drama adapted from the novel by Graham Norton. Filmed on location in the Tyne Valley, the series blends dark comedy with emotionally driven storytelling and stars Amy Nuttall, Douglas Henshall, Lewis Cope and Denise Welch. It is produced by FilmNation and MediaPro.
